Even though most leaders have been exposed to communication theory, the actual practice of effective communication is still difficult. In this third Leadership Series module, participants will practice communication techniques such as the “I message” and active listening. Participants also will discuss and practice quality documenting techniques.
The other two major areas of this module are teamwork and stress management. All leaders need to be proficient at modeling teamwork for their followers. Participants will discuss the different pieces of teamwork and how they apply to the workplace. Stress management is also an important component of this module.
Stress is a major cause of much lost time, accidents, ineffective work, poor morale, poor health and many other problems. Understanding the source of negative stress (distress)and learning how to combat it are most important to anyone involved in leadership.
