Governor Phil Bryant Declares Manufacturing Week in Mississippi

JACKSON, Miss. (September 21, 2018) – Gov. Phil Bryant signed a proclamation Sept. 19 to declare October 1-5, 2018, as Manufacturing Week in Mississippi. The proclamation comes in accordance with the National Association of Manufacturers’ Manufacturing Day in an effort to raise awareness about manufacturing and the available opportunities in this secure and growing sector of the economy.

MMA President & CEO Jay C. Moon:

“Manufacturing is the engine that powers Mississippi’s economy. It is important that we recognize this segment of our state’s economy through activities that will take place throughout Mississippi during Manufacturing Week. In the last legislative session, MMA worked with the House and Senate leadership to pass several important bills that will allow manufacturers to grow, expand and bring new business to Mississippi. A strong manufacturing base means a strong Mississippi economy.”
