For the past year, Contract Fabricators, Inc., which has a facility in Iuka and in Holly Springs, manufactured a regenerator for Chevron in Pascagoula.
The regenerator is equipped with 22 cyclones, and the purpose of this piece of equipment is to turn a heavy oil product into commercial products, such as diesel and gasoline. The regenerator weighs over 800,000 pounds, and earlier this month, it was shipped to the Gulf Coast on a barge.
The video below shows how Chevron recruited CFI to build the regenerator head for its Fluidized Catalyst Cracker, how the 800,000 pound piece of equipment was moved from Iuka to Pascagoula, and the importance of these two Mississippi companies working together on a $40 million project.
