MMA-MEP Partners with Pearl River Community College Workforce Training Program

JACKSON, MS (October 31, 2019) — The Mississippi Manufacturers Association Manufacturing Extension Partnership (MMA-MEP) today announced its partnership with the Pearl River Community College (PRCC) Workforce Training Program. PRCC joins MEP’s network of several colleges that provide training, technical solutions, and support services for new, expanding and existing business and industry in Mississippi.

“We are proud to support the MMA-MEP mission of strengthening Mississippi-based manufacturing by providing local companies with high-tech training to meet increasingly automated industry standards,” said PRCC Dean of Workforce Terri Clark. “Our team is honored to partner with the MMA-MEP network to support initiatives for increasing Mississippi manufacturers’ competitiveness on a global scale.”

PRCC Workforce provides a wide range of training to develop the skills that industry employers require. Workforce training programs and services available to businesses are: customized training, industry credentials and certifications, leadership training, customer service, health and safety training, quality and process improvement, meeting and training spaces, and a comprehensive testing center.

“We are excited to have Pearl River Community College Workforce Training Program join the MEP network,” said MMA-MEP Executive Director James Williams. “This partnership will support manufacturers by providing a strong network of resources that will assist companies in solving manufacturing challenges.”

Mississippi’s MEP program is one of 51 NIST-MEP Centers nationwide and provides exemplary service to Mississippi’s manufacturers by supporting the change that makes a significant difference between surviving and thriving. The MMA-MEP is a catalyst for strengthening Mississippi manufacturing — accelerating its ongoing transformation into a more efficient and powerful engine of innovation by driving economic growth and job creation. MMA-MEP’s community college and university-based centers provide small- and medium-sized manufacturers the tools to innovate, create and retain jobs, increase profits, and save time and money.
