JACKSON – In a signed proclamation, Governor Tate Reeves declared today “Manufacturing Day in Mississippi”, which is also celebrated nationally by the National Association of Manufacturers.
“Mississippi’s manufacturers create a variety of products that are shipped all over the world, and Manufacturing Day gives industry the opportunity to showcase the promising careers in modern manufacturing as well celebrate the tremendous accomplishments these businesses make to their communities on a daily basis,” said MMA President & CEO John McKay. “We hope to see continued growth in our industry and to make Mississippi’s economy stronger for years to come.”
Mississippi’s manufacturers are certainly doing their part to keep our state’s economy strong. In 2022, they contributed $17.86 billion in real added value to the state’s gross state product, making it the highest-grossing non-farm industry in Mississippi.
