JACKSON (Mississippi Development Authority) – Global electrification technology company ABB is expanding operations in Senatobia to meet growing market demand. The project represents a corporate investment of $40 million and will create 122 jobs.
The expansion includes the addition of 200,000 square feet to the company’s Senatobia facility, as well as the addition of new equipment, which will enable ABB to increase production of its air circuit breaker and molded case circuit breaker lines.
Mississippi Development Authority is providing assistance through the Mississippi Flexible Tax Incentive, or MFLEX, program. Tate County and the city of Senatobia also are assisting with the project.
Switzerland-based ABB is a leading manufacturer of electrification and automation technology and has been operating in the U.S. for more than 100 years. ABB employs 17,000 across 40 manufacturing, distribution and R&D locations in 20 states. This investment in Senatobia is the latest in ABB's $3 billion of investments in the U.S. since 2017.
ABB expects to complete the expansion during the first quarter of 2026.
QUOTES
“Economic development in Mississippi is thriving, and this latest win from ABB continues that trend. The reasons companies like ABB continuously choose to invest private capital and create more jobs in Mississippi are crystal clear: our inviting business environment and pro-business mindset. Mississippi has momentum, and this investment is further proof of that.” – Gov. Tate Reeves
“So far in 2025, Mississippi has seen tremendous economic development success, and ABB’s latest investment in Tate County further builds upon that progress. We have the workforce, the resources, the prime location and extensive transportation network that enable companies to optimize speed to market. Combine these attributes with a government that works hard to ensure companies succeed in Mississippi, and it’s no wonder we are experiencing this momentum in all corners of our state. MDA is proud to once again support ABB as it grows in Senatobia.” – MDA Executive Director Bill Cork
“The Tate County and Senatobia community could not be more thrilled with the expansion of ABB. More jobs in our area means more residents living and working in Tate County, which is great.” - Tate County Economic Development Foundation Executive Director Anna Cardona
