Company Profile:   Western Container is a high performance company dedicated to being the premier manufacturer of PET containers for the Coca-Cola Bottling System

Situation/Challenge:  Western Container faced the challenges of a the tight post-COVID labor market. They were unable to hire externally for the position of maintenance techs in the blow mold maintenance and injections maintenance departments.

Solution/MEP’s Role: By accessing mechanical maintenance training for its existing employees, WC was able to train dedicated employees from other departments for transition.

Results: As a result of the training obtained through PRCC’s MEP Center, one employee, Nate, was able to advance from a Warehouse Technician to a Maintenance Technician first for the Blow Mold and then Injections, meeting a critical need for Western Container and saving thousands in outside maintenance costs.
