Director of Communication
TJ Werre is the Director of Communication. His responsibilities include promoting awareness of MMA’s mission and Mississippi’s manufacturing interests among key audiences, as well as promoting MMA as the leading authority on manufacturing and business in the state. He also serves as the primary media contact for the organization.
Before joining MMA in August 2020, TJ served in communications roles at the Mississippi Emergency Management Agency and for Attorney General Lynn Fitch.
TJ started his professional career in television news. His first full-time job was as a news photographer and sports anchor at KAAL-TV in Rochester, MN. He moved to Mississippi in 2010 and spent the next eight and a half years at WJTV in Jackson, where he was a four-time Sportscaster of the Year.
TJ graduated from The University of Memphis where he majored in Journalism with an emphasis in broadcast news. He and his wife, Sue Ann, reside in Madison with their two daughters.
