JACKSON, Miss. (June 20, 2024) – A transformative initiative to create a single, unified organization representing business and industry throughout Mississippi is taking major steps toward becoming a reality, and, if approved, it will do so as the Mississippi Business Alliance.

Mississippi Wins Three National Awards for Economic Development Accomplishments

JACKSON (Office of Governor Reeves) – The state of Mississippi has been honored with a Gold Shovel Award by Area Development magazine. The national award honors Mississippi’s historic accomplishments in economic development throughout 2024. Additionally, Area Development named the $10 billion Amazon Web Services project as one of its Non-Manufacturing Projects of the Year, and the $1.9 billion Amplify Cell Technologies project as one of its Manufacturing Projects of the Year.

Nissan Canton Donates $250,000 to Mississippi's Seven HBCU's

CANTON, Miss. (June 4, 2025) – Nissan is donating $250,000 to Mississippi's seven HBCUs to further STEM education, continuing its 11th consecutive year of funding Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) in the state. Since launching the Mississippi HBCU STEM Initiative in 2014, Nissan has invested $2.75 million to support and encourage innovative programming that serves Mississippi students, helping to grow STEM awareness and the technology workforce of the future.
