Truck battery joint venture locating factory in Marshall County

JACKSON (Office of Governor Reeves) – A joint venture between Accelera by Cummins, the zero-emissions business unit of Cummins Inc., Daimler Trucks & Buses and PACCAR, is locating advanced battery cell production operations in Marshall County. The project represents a corporate investment of at least $1.9 billion and will create 2,000 jobs with an average annual salary of approximately $66,000.

Governor Reeves Announces Special Session to Finalize Largest Economic Development Deal in State History

JACKSON (Office of Governor Reeves) – Governor Tate Reeves today announced that he is calling a special session to finalize the second-largest economic development project in Mississippi history. Additionally, the economic development project represents the largest payroll commitment of any major project in state history. This follows the largest economic development project in state history – the $2.5 billion corporate investment by Aluminum Dynamics, Inc. that was announced in 2022.

Nissan Canton and Habitat for Humanity Dedicate Home to Family in Canton

CANTON, Miss. – In a collaborative effort, Nissan Canton Vehicle Assembly Plant and Habitat for Humanity Mississippi Capital Area (HFHMCA) today marked a significant milestone with the completion of their 15th home build in the tri-county area. More than 100 dedicated employee volunteers from Nissan contributed their time and skills during an eight-day building project from August to October, benefiting Canton resident Sharon Wilkes and her family.
