Mississippi Manufacturers Association Announces Launch of CONNEX™ Mississippi

JACKSON – The Mississippi Manufacturers Association (MMA) and the MMA Manufacturing Extension Partnership (MEP) are pleased to announce the launch of CONNEX™ Mississippi, which is an online software platform designed to strengthen the state’s local and domestic manufacturing supply chain. Through the platform, Mississippi manufacturers will be able to better connect with each other, find local suppliers, discover new business opportunities, and manage their supply chains.

Hush Aerospace Locating Operations in Tupelo

JACKSON (COURTESY: MISSISSIPPI DEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY) – Unmanned aerial systems designer and manufacturer Hush Aerospace is locating operations in Tupelo. The project represents a corporate investment of $13.975 million and will create 80 jobs.

Huber Engineered Woods Locating Manufacturing Operations in Shuqualak

JACKSON (Courtesy: Mississippi Development Authority) –Huber Engineered Woods, a leading specialty building products manufacturer, is locating a state-of-the-art oriented strand board manufacturing plant in Shuqualak in Noxubee County. The project is a $418 million corporate investment and will create 158 jobs.

Atlas Web Technologies to Add Capacity at Paper Mill in Meridian

ATLANTA (Courtesy: Atlas Roofing) Atlas Web Technologies, a division of Atlas Roofing Corporation, announced it will be making investments in two of its paper mills to increase capacity significantly. The premier manufacturer and supplier of 100% recycled paper and coated glass flexible facers to the polyiso and gypsum building materials markets, Atlas will make these improvements at its Meridian, MS, and Franklin, OH, paper mills, increasing capacity by approximately 30% over the next two years. This comes on the heels of a recent capacity expansion project at the Meridian coated glass facer plant and will help Atlas grow their coverage as the largest flexible facer manufacturer in North America.

Hood Industries Building Plywood Facility in Beaumont

Jackson, Miss. (May 4, 2023) – Hood Industries announced today its plans to build a state-of-the-art laminated plywood panel manufacturing facility in Beaumont in Perry County. The project represents a corporate investment of more than $200 million and will create 265 direct jobs.
