JACKSON (Office of Governor Reeves) – A joint venture between Accelera by Cummins, the zero-emissions business unit of Cummins Inc., Daimler Trucks & Buses and PACCAR, is locating advanced battery cell production operations in Marshall County. The project represents a corporate investment of at least $1.9 billion and will create 2,000 jobs with an average annual salary of approximately $66,000. 

JACKSON (Office of Governor Reeves) – Governor Tate Reeves today announced that he is calling a special session to finalize the second-largest economic development project in Mississippi history. Additionally, the economic development project represents the largest payroll commitment of any major project in state history. This follows the largest economic development project in state history – the $2.5 billion corporate investment by Aluminum Dynamics, Inc. that was announced in 2022. 

CANTON, Miss. – In a collaborative effort, Nissan Canton Vehicle Assembly Plant and Habitat for Humanity Mississippi Capital Area (HFHMCA) today marked a significant milestone with the completion of their 15th home build in the tri-county area. More than 100 dedicated employee volunteers from Nissan contributed their time and skills during an eight-day building project from August to October, benefiting Canton resident Sharon Wilkes and her family.

JACKSON (Office of Governor Reeves) – Governor Reeves today announced a series of new appointments at the Mississippi Development Authority (MDA). Governor Reeves appointed William “Bill” Cork as Executive Director/Chief Economic Development Officer, PJ Waldrop as Chief Operations Officer, and Steven McDevitt as Chief Investment Officer.

JACKSON (Courtesy: Mississippi Development Authority) – Fishing boat manufacturer Avid Boats is renovating and expanding its facility in Monroe County. The project is a $7.96 million investment that will create 50 new jobs. 

JACKSON - The results for Mississippi's 2023 general elections are in and there were very few surprising outcomes. Governor Tate Reeves and Lt. Governor Delbert Hosemann, along with the rest of the statewide incumbents, were re-elected. In the House and Senate races, only one incumbent lost and very few races were competitive.

BLUE SPRINGS - (November 1, 2023) – Juniors and seniors at New Albany and Union County Schools will soon have a unique opportunity to learn and earn. Toyota announced Wednesday—in collaboration with local partners—the investment and launch of its 4T Academy, a hands-on training program designed to place students directly into Toyota production jobs right out of high school.
